Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a notary public?

A notary public is a person commissioned to serve the public as a neutral witness. A notary performs notarial acts that are allowed or required by law — serving as a verifier, authenticator, impartial agent for the state, and an unbiased, official witness.

What are the payment methods you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, cash, Stripe, Square, and Venmo.

What fees can a notary legally charge?

Per the Ohio Secretary of State, we charge $5 per notarization. Mobile travel fees apply and will be determined by location of signing.

What forms of ID are acceptable?

Acceptable forms of identification include a valid US State ID or Driver's License, Passport, or other government-issued photo identification. For Remote Online Notarization specifically, you must have a valid US State ID/Driver's License or Passport.

Will you come to me?

Yes! The Mobile Agent offers mobile notary services throughout Northeast Ohio. Frank will travel to your home, office, hospital, care facility, or any other location convenient for you. Services are available by appointment.

What is a signing agent?

A Loan Signing Agent (also called a mortgage signing agent) is a notary public who specializes in mortgage loan documents. They are trained to guide borrowers through the signing process and ensure documents are completed accurately and returned to the lender or title company.

Does notarization make a document "legal" or "true"?

No. Notarization does not guarantee the truthfulness or legality of a document's content. A notary's role is to verify the identity of the signer, confirm they are signing willingly, and authenticate the signature — not to validate the substance of the document.
